Jimmie Mcgrath
« on: Thursday 08 December 05 13:45 GMT (UK) »
My uncle came over to England from Ireland, and joined the Merchant Navy. He was in the Boar War.  After the war he settled in Liverpool.  There was an article in the Paper concerning him, as he saved passengers on the boat, when it got torpeaded.  I have been told that he was awarded some sort of medel for bravery.  Before he came to England he won the Sailing Cup for Dungarvan.  Please advice me as to how I am able to find out more about this person.  IE what boat he came over to England on, the Paper that his article appeared in.  Any help would be welcome.
