Post too W--I--D--E!

I posted a message in the Common Room with a picture that came out much bigger than I expected.  This has resulted in the text covering too wide an area to read comfortably on both that and the replies.  I have now halved the size of the picture, but the text is still unwieldy.  How can I rectify this?

Hi Dimps,

the problem now, is that you  posted an URL which is wider than the screen.  Nothing you can do about it really, ........

unless you use this idea from JAP:

If you don't already know (and as it can get distracting scrolling across posts) there is a wonderful site that will turn a great big long URL into a Tiny URL for you!  It is at:
http://tinyurl.com/
You can then include the tinyURL in your post and it will still lead to the right site but it won't make the thread scroll horizontally.

Good Morning All,

Could someone please explain why it is necessary for us to scroll from side to side? It is extremely difficult to maintain one's train of thought whilst reading long distances across the screen.

This generally happens when someone posts an image which is wider than the original table or posts a full url for a web page which is extremely long. The table system that Rootschat uses is a flexible one so the pages widen to accomodate these insertions.

WIDE. Trying to read my posts today was hilarious I had to use mouse to move screen from left to right.

Rootschat is based on a variable table size which moves to accomodate what is posted ..... if you post an image which is wider than the screen this happens for every subsequent post for that thread.

The same happens if you place an extremely long web address into a line although there are ways around this one.

   I'm presuming of course that you are simply referring to Rootschat.
