i wonder if Vivien is related to 1164  Pte F Dyson 9th Batt, 32 Russell St Hurst. Ashton. wounded 5.6.17


Vivian did have a brother Fred but he was born in 1907 and so didn't serve in WW1.  I'm not aware of any other relatives with initial F, I'll ask my father.

hello lauras mum,the 3/9th were the reserves for the 2/9th,if the 2/9th needed reinforcements they would come from the 3/9th,you are right about the capt serving in egypt+the dardanelles,at the time,he was a private in the 1/5th batt,the eccles company were a PALS company made up of men from the eccles area,who would be friends,neighbours and workmates who all enlisted togethor,mack
military history,mainly ww1,manchester pals battalions,tyneside irish +tyneside scottish brigades,leeds,liverpool,accrington,birmingham,hull,barnsley,swansea and salford pals.
