Has anyone found the Pearce family in the Bridgwater area. My tree starts with a sea Captain called William Pearce marrying an Elizabeth (born C1822/3 Bridgwater). They had 9 children, Emma (born 1847), Lucy (born 1850), Harry/Henry (born 1854),
Kate (born C1856), George (born 1858), Thomas (born 1860), Walter (born 1862), Lizzie and William. All the ones with years of birth were born in Bridgwater but don’t know yet about the others. Thomas emigrated to Australia, which is where he died. Kate married and had 1 son. Lizzie married twice, Webber and Gill. She went to Canada but returned and died in Bridgwater. She had 1 son by each marriage. William married Mary Ann Hole and had a daughter Ada Mary. Ada was deaf.
Lizzie and Kate may in fact be one and the same person.
Emma married William Henry Wilkins (born C1844 Cannington) in 1895 in Bristol. They had 6 children, Celia Kate (born C1870/1 Combwich), Clara (born 1871 Combwich/Cannington), William G (born 1872 Combwich), Elizabeth Emma (born C1876 Cannington/Combwich), Jesse Pearce (born 1879 Otterhampton), George William (born 1874 Otterhampton). William G and George William may be the same person.
Celia Kate is also thought to have married and had a son. Clara married Charles Williams but they didn’t have any children. Jesse married Lavina White, they had 2 sons, one was called William and he emigrated to the USA. Jesse worked for Duke of Somerset and Duke of Devonshire. George married Rose and they had 5 children, Jeffrey, Marion, Stanley, Nellie and one other son. Elizabeth Emma Wilkins was my Great Grandmother, she married Alfred Henry Moore and they had 2 sons and 7 daughters in the Bridgwater area. Would be great to hear from anyone with information or related to any of the above.
