Where did our Frances Go??????
« on: Saturday 17 December 05 20:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi There 8)

First of all - Merry Chrimble to all of you!

Secondly, I am having trouble finding a family member Frances Tivey (female) in the 1861 census.

She was born in Worthington abt 1838 to parents Elizabeth (Wardle) and Thomas Tivey.

In the 1841 census she is staying with her grandparents David and Elizabeth Wardle in Coloerton.  In 1851 she is a lodger in Belton and a scholar living in the same street as her parents but not in the same house.

I cannot find a marriage or a death for her between 1851 and 1861 but cannot find her  the 1861 census as a single person either.

Can any of you kind hearted souls help?  I've tried listing her as Francis, Fanny, Tivvy, Tivey, Sevey etc etc but to no avail! :(

Please help

Cheers :) :D ;D

Hi Sarah

No unfortunately not, Heather is a few miles away - she was definitely born in Worthington - there is a Tivey family in Heather but this isnt the one I am looking for

Thank you so much for taking the time to look :D

Cheers

Hello Jan,

Haven't found Frances, but while looking for her I came across a Mary Ann born Worthington 1837. Transcribed Terrey but looks like Tivvey. Thought she might be one of yours :)

Hello again Jan,

FreeBMD has a marriage page for Dec 1859 Shardlow, which includes Fanny TIVEY and Henry FOREMAN. I think this may be them in 1861...

1861 Census - RG9/1966 F.5 P.5

Fanny says she was born 1840 in Melbourne.

John
