Just found this - I think it's James and Harriet with Joseph and a couple of younger kids in 1851...  It doesn't make sense if they were missing in 1841, but what do you think?

Harriett Jones  Wife  48  b. Stone, Staffs
Joseph Jones  Son  18  Clerk on the Canal  b. Wheelock

Well maybe not go searching for the parents deaths.

1851 Green Bank, Wheelock
James Jones Head M 48 Inn Keeper Cheshire Elton
Harriett Wife M 48 Staffordshire Stone
Joseph Son Unm 18 Clerk on the Canal Cheshire Wheelock
Sarah Ann daughter 9 Scholar " "
Herbert Son 7 " " "
Ann Wilkinson Servant U 18 General Servant Staffordshire Newcastle
Abraham Wilkinson Servant U 17 " " Cheshire Sandbach

Next dwelling Wheelock Street
Thomas Jones Head U 26 Sawyer Cheshire Wynbury
Katherine Sister U 29 Housekeeper " "
Abraham Borrows Visitor U 26 Ag Lab " Burland
HO107/2168 Congleton Sandbach Folio 124 Page 5

Rambler beat me to it!! but you missed off Thomas next door.  It does make sense though, the extra children are all under 10, just the parents need to be found in 1841.

1861 Legh Street, Kingswinford, Staffordshire
James Jones Head M 41 not a flamin clue Cheshire Wheelock
Harriett Wife M 41 " "
RG9/2072 Stourbridge Kingswinford Folio 33 Page 59
But I don't think these fit at all do you?  I just thought the Kingswinford was a bit coincidental

I meant the parents were missing in 1841, not the (unborn) kids - phrased it badly!  ;D

Is this James Sr in 1861?

RG9/2614/9/11 - Long Fields, Sandbach
James Jones  Lodger  Wid  57  Ag Lab  b. Elton

No one else in household.   :(

Not a lot to go on for James there, but the dob and birthplace are consistent with 1851 - pity there's no one else with him.

IGI has a christening record for yet another child: Emily, chr. Wheelock, 24 Aug 1845.  Cheshire BMD has a probable death for her in Sandbach sub-district in 1847, aged 1.  I make that 11 children - 4 is quite enough for me!  :-\

Yes but the age is way out, that's why I think Rambler's James is more likely to be right and Harriett may have already died.

Thanks Peter

Mary
