I am trying to connect John Gowers b1816 in Stebbing to John Gowers b1786. Also John Gowers b1849 in Stebbing. I feel they are all related. Any help will be gratefully accepted.

I have all the Fiches for Baptisms Marriages and Burials for stebbing Essex as quite a few of my Ancestors came from there. I will be going back through them in a couple of days as also helping someone else out. If you like i am quite willing to look for the Gowers for you. I know there are quite a few as have Gower (but mine from kent) in there as been quite frustrating trying to miss them out knowing they not to do with me.  They date back to 1712.

Thanks Jane. I am actually trying to follow the Lewis line from Stebbing. The Gowers (Sarah Jane) side is my great grandmother. If you can give me marriage information prior to George Lewis and Elizabeth Turpin that would be greatly appreciated. Regards Norm.

Hi Jane,
George Lewis was born 1811, Elizabeth Turpin was born 1815, both in Stebbing I believe. John Lewis (Georges father) was baptised 23/1/1771. I would like to at least find who Johns children were. John was married to Rebecca Barker in 1791. If you can help Jane that would be terrific. Thanks again. Regards Norm.

I have lots of info about a John Gowers born Stebbing Essex 1816 died 1872 who married Elizabeth at Stebbing in 1840 , but his father was Thomas Gowers  of Stebbing. I also have info about his children Esther, Rachel and Anna,  and many of his grandchildren, if they are part of your family I am happy to share the info with you, but am not happy to put all the info on this site as I believe family info is for family members. My g/g/grandma was an older sister of this John Gowers, she was born abt 1803 abd died in 1861 and was the mother of my g/grandfather Samuel, best wishes from Australia
