Cleaning a gravestone

Does anyone know how I should clean a white marble headstone please?It is only 17 years old but is looking a bit uncared for. It's only top dirt but is going a tad grey, and I don't want to ruin it with Cif or the like.

Thank you very much for replying to my query. After reading the links you posted I think I'll leave it alone. As I said---it's not very old and I can read the inscription very well. It's only the top that is dirty so I'll use plain water and if that doesn't work I'll leave it be.

ps. I have found when I am trying to decipher very old inscriptions that a spray with water works well and enables you to take a good photo.

I use washing up liquid and a dish cloth and a bottle of clean water to rinse it off. This was how I was told to do it by are local memorial mason.
