My mother lived near Fogie for many years and told me that the village was originally somewhere else, but it was offending the Laird, so he had it all moved out of his line of sight!

That's quite a common occurrence - New Scone and Fochabers are examples of the same thing, and there are probably others.

I found an old map once on the British Library web site that actually had Foggieloan marked on it, but I can't remember which map it was and have not been able to find it again. It was a farm at the western end, roughly, of what is now the town of Aberchirder, and at least part of the town must lie on the land that was Foggie.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
