Hi Every one, I have just noticed this topic My G.G.Grandfather  James Jones was also a boatman ( in Chester) for many years. Did you know that in the Cheshire & Chester County Archives, in chester, of which i am a member, there is  a seperate Census for Boat poeple? I have never used it myself because Boat poeple could have been out of town when the census was taken .so could be anywhere :)  Just thought you might like to know, if you didnt ;D
