Hi

I have found one of my Ansesters a William Amos b1732 died 1771 It says he was an In-dweller Grange. (Info from rulewater and it's people)  The rest of the family were at Town O' Rule at the time,does anyone know where or what Grange was. Im thinking possibly some kind of Institution anyone got any ideas of what it is or where i could start looking.

According to the Genuki Roxburghshire Gazetteer, there is a place in Hounam called Grainge.  It doesn't give any more info, but it might be a start.

  Grange is about 1 mile from Town o Rule on the other side of the
  Rule water in the parish of Abbotrule. I think it is a farmstead .
