Richards family Cwmdare

I am trying to find out the surname of the wife of Thomas Richards (1779) farmer of Tyr Evan Bach Drawy Farm in Cwmdare. Her first name was Margaret and she died before 1851.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

There are a number of marriages on Freebmd - Merthyr reg district - for Thomas Richards and 'Margaret'. The first is in Sept Q 1838.  If you click on the Freebmd page number it gives a list of others married in the same vol and page, sometimes, you can deduce who married who.

Do you have any clues to when first/any children are born?

Thanks for looking, but unfortunately they would have married around 1800, before registration came in.

Their daughter was Martha Evans born 1826 Aberdare who married John Evans from Llanegwad.

The only one I can find from the Glamorgan disk (up to 1837)is 18/2/1832 to Margaret James.  This was Aberdare parish.

Yes please, their first child Margaret was born in 1811 if that helps.

Had another good look.  This is a good possibility for parish and date.  There is another -both Merthyr parish -but not married until 1813, let me know if you want that.

Thomas Richards, from Aberdare parish, married Margaret Lewis, from Merthyr Parish, on 23/7/1809, in Merthyr Parish.
