My great great grandad was Anthony Dixon. He died quite young. His widow went on the run The Commercial Inn, Cockermouth. (now The Kingfisher)

my dad was born in Egremont and I was also brought up with the ryhme

two little dickie birds sitting on a wall
one named peter
one named paul
fly away peter
fly away paul
come back peter
come back paul

he would have a little piece of newspaper stuck to two of his finger nails and would put his hand behind his back when saying the fly away bit

and bring his hand back round minus the paper when saying the come back lines

is that the way you remember it
