Basing House, Whittlesey...

I have an ancestor that died in 1926, and his Death Certificate states his place of death as Basing House, Whittlesey.

I have 'googled' this address, but nothing shows. 

Does anyone know where this building stood?  Or maybe if it was a boarding house of some kind?  I have asked the Curate at Whittlesey Museum but they have no idea of it's location although she would try to find out for me.

Where was he living in 1911? Have you gone through any censuses to see if the house is mentioned?

Hi thanks for the post.  It's an Edward Ingle.  He was in the Whittlesey Workhouse in 1911, with his brother John.

I never thought of looking for the actual building on any censuses.  Will give that a try.  Thanks.

I also have a relative who died at Basing House. I wonder if the OP found anything. I am just off to search the census...

Hi!  I've just seen your message; sadly I've drawn a blank on the location of Basing House.    My ancestor was in W'sey Workshouse on the 1911 Census, and died fifteen years later.  I 'googled' "Basing House, Whittlesey"  and came up with this:-
