In the 1901, Ancaster Wentworth  Wm McArthur says he was born 1863  scotland & he immigrated 1873 and his wife Susan and daughter Annie were born Ont.

In 1911 the census says he was born Ontario...living with Susan and  Grandson William E Marshand is living with them...

If we can find a marriage between Susan Marshand and  William McArthur we may luck out and get parents full names...

We can't discount this as being our William from the 1911 as it may just be over zealous hurry-up-and-get-it-done-manship!

Havn't found a marriage yet,

But found a birth for Annie Elizabeth McArthur in 1885, County of Wentworth, parents William McArthur and Susie Weer.

Would grandson William E. Marshand be Annie son?

Hi you have been busy. Thank you both so much I should like to think this is my William. Thought you might like to know I'm from London. Different time zone to you both. Late April will be going to Scotland for the first time to help with my quest to find William Walker 1844 Glasgow. I have lots of information but not his birth or parents marriage. Wouldn't you just know it!  ::)

I'll have a look at the original marriage next time I'm at the library for William and Susan to see what it says.

I'm amazed you can do that I don't think you can here, though I could be wrong. Thank you. Terri :)

They (BMD's) are on microfilm so if your library (in Ontario) has them you are in luck, if not you can inter-library loan from the Ontario Archives or National Archives.  I'm lucky my library has quite a bit of microfilm's on hand and of course they have the indexes for Ontario.  Oh sure, I still can't find my own stuff, but it's amazing how you can find other peoples  ;D

Yeah, I really had the names all muddled when I said marchand for Susan as that would have been daughter anne's new surname...Sometimes the brain is just mush!!!

You are very lucky to have Karen on the case ! Her brain is still intact...
and she is great, too!

That's debateable!   ;D

They say it takes 6 months to get your brain back after childbirth, but I'm not sure! It's been 14 months and it's touch and go, at least that's what I've been told.
