Hi,
I've just started researching my maternal family, Haffey.  I am from Cloughfin, Armagh, the place of my grandfather and as far as I know generations of Haffeys.  Many of my grandfathers siblings, and indeed perhaps his uncles and aunts emigrated, some to Glasgow.  I have little information, but we are from northwest Armagh. Have you any other information on your g.grandmother, Catherine?
Take care,
Mary goodman

Hi Catherine,
Good to hear from you.  On your grandmother's birth and marriage certs. what are the names of her mother and father?
Take care, Mary.

Well Dolly,
I renamed you....sorry about that, but at least I gave you a family name!

What I wonder if there were any parent's names on the certs. that you have.

I know that my g.grandfather was William Haffey and his wife was Annie, nee Agnew. My grandfather, James, was their son, born in 1872/3, all in Cloughfin, Co. Armagh, who had siblings that went to Glasgow, perhaps my g.grandfather's siblings went there also.

We have had family in Glasgow, deceased now, so it's difficult, at this point, to piece it all together. I'll keep going though.

Take care, good luck and thanks for the reply,
Mary

Hi Mary,
Forgive me for the intrusion but I am also researching the Haffeys from Cloughfin. My father spend his childhood there and still lives locally. You mentioned your grandfather, James Haffey. I believe that your grandfather's brother Francis Haffey is my g. g. grandfather. If at all possible please get in touch. Thank you.  :)
