iron foundry in spittal?

i have various family members mentioned working in an iron foundry in spittal, some moved to morpeth and started one of there own "swinney iron Foundry"

am i correct in assuming that the iron works are where the school is sited now,
i'm not that good with maps, but think thats where it is
can anyone confirm this

Which foundry are you talking about - Morpeth or Spittal?  You also have not stated which time period you are looking at.

You may want to consider looking at a site that gives old maps -  I think it's called old-maps.co (or something similar).

Hi
If it's the iron foundry at Spittal you are referring to it was situated at the site of now Martin's printers along the end of the maiin street on the right hand side. There are still some original features remaining inside (timbers etc).

My grandfather and his father worked there
