Surname Interest
« on: Sunday 26 February 06 16:15 GMT (UK) »
I have been researching my Sale family and always thought they originated from London but my G G G Grandfather Edmund Sale was born in Stratford upon Avon in 1804. I don't know if his whole family moved to London or if it was just him.
Does anyone else have Sale relatives from Warwickshire, i would be especially interested if anyone has any Sale relatives from Stratford upon Avon.

EAST LONDON - Watts, Sale, Steel
STRATFORD UPON AVON - Sale

Hi Amy
My GG Grandfather was Henry Bailey Sale, originally from Derbyshire but living in Birmingham.
HB Sale was a die sinker and his factory, known as "the Red Palace"  is a bit of a landmark in the Jewelry Quarter. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1%E2%80%937_Constitution_Hill,_Birmingham
He died in 1901 in Solihull which is about 20miles from Stratford, but the fact he originated in Derbyshire probably means it's a different lot of Sales.

Regards
John

Hi John,

Welcome to RootChat

Not sure if you have come across it yet but there is a section at the bottom of every RootsChat page - Your Tools - Surname Interests - You can add your own surnames of interest and check if anyone else might be researching the same.  Perhaps this might be useful to you.
