COURT/HOPPLE (Hoppel)
« on: Tuesday 28 February 06 23:06 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for any information on, or descendants of, Maud Lea Mary COURT who married Melford H HOPPLE (also spelt HOPPEL) in La Salle County, Illinois, Nov/Dec 1893.

Maud Court was born 18 Jan 1871 in Croydon, Surrey, England.
Her parents were George Court and Ann (nee Willis). They emigrated to the USA around 1872.

Maud had at least one sister, Sarah A Court, born around Dec 1864/Jan 1865, who also emigrated to the USA with her parents.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Guy  :)

Hi jorose,

Many thanks for the info.

I have only been researching my family history for just over a year and recently discovered the branch that includes Maud Court. Purely by chance did I find her in the IGI on the LDS website and then another piece of luck was that Ancestry.com had allowed free access to the 1900 USA census and I found the relevant entry which you have quoted. But, I could not decipher the names of the sons - thank you for that!

Some follow-up questions - How did you track the family to the 1920/1930 entries? Which index are you consulting?

What is SSDI?

Last question - Not being very familiar with genealogy research in the USA, what tips/suggestions can you give for me to continue with?

Once again, thanks for the very quick reply.

Kindest regards,

Guy  ;D
