Hi Kerrfam

Any idea where your Hurley family may have originated?  Or do you think you gg grandfather was born in Canada as well?

Any siblings for John J. Hurley which may have information of the parents?

John Josiah Hurley was born  30 Jan. 1821 in Storrington Twp. ONA4-41 Ontario. He is listed in 1881 census  family 487  sub Dis. A. Div 2 page 115  as Jon Josiah  living with wife Emily and 3 of his 12 children. He moved to Huron Bruce Co. and then on to Echo Bay, Algoma Ontario. A family member has  his family Bible but no parents are written in. In the Bible is written "presented to Jane  Fitchell of Winchester in 1855 and give to John Hurley 1872 in Storrington. Also a John Fitchell is mentioned he died Aug. 1857at Winchester. Was John and Jane Emily's parents ????Also an Ann is said to have married a Josiah Ker in Ogdusburg Sept. 1857. also Mary Jane b 9 March 1865  died 10 hrs later. John Irwin Ker d. Oct. 1858." These things were written in the Bible along with all of John and Emily's children names and births. They are both definetly buried in Maple Hill Cemeter, Echo Bay Algoma. Real puzzle need help.

Found John and Emily's death registrations.  He is listed as dying September 24, 1901, 82 years old and she is listed as dying December 11, 1901, 79 years old.  They are both residing in Echo Bay and both born in Storrington Twp.  The informant is CA Hurley.  They didn't list who the parents were.

I wonder why her death is 11 years off?

Thank You to all who are trying to help me solve this mystery.
Emily definately died. Dec.  11 1901. I have a picture of her tombstone in Echo Bay. Karen can you tell me how I could reach the CA Hurley informant. I would like to contact him to see if he knows anything about the parents. I am trying everything to get past this road block. Thanks again to all.
