Hello all those who offered helpful advice in my temporary absence due to illness, I think I have it sorted now and what a convoluted road it has been. It all stemmed from a tiny New Testament my mother left me but it is a long story of persons acquiring the bible, dying, somebody else inheriting it et al! Thanks all and my belated apologies for going missing.

Hello all and thanks for trying to get back to me in my enforced absence, I have been quite ill for a year or so but all good now! To cut to the chase, no, they did not in my two generations travel down under but the extended family may have. I am related to James Henry Dewhurst who was born in  Keighley C1840 and his parents were William Dewhurst of Keighley and his wife Mary Ann Hoyle of Bradford.
Regards,

Hi Bram
I am most interested in your James Henry Dewhurst b.c.1840 Keighley.
I have several James Henry Dewhurst's born in Keighley - 1855, 1866, 1878 m. Rosetta Dunn, Clara Simpson, and Unknown respectively. What is your line back to James Henry Dewhurst and do you know much beyond that?
Thank you
David Freeman

Hello David

I am just on the way out but will put together a reply on my return, Clara Simpson was my Great Aunt, OR half great Aunt depending on who her father was and who the my maternal great Grand father was,?
Her sister/half sister was my grand mother who was born in the Skipton Workhouse 23 Dec 1842 whereas Clara of course was born in Keighley with her mother my great grandmother Jane Ellen Simpson present at the birth. I have a fascinating tale to tell of my connection to James Henry and will get back to you ASAP.
