Looking for information on the family of

William Richard Cecil Hanes born 3 Sep 1888, Cowbridge, Wales
 His parents William and Cecilia Hanes

He went to South Africa in 1900 with the Border Regiment as a bugler boy (he was 16 at the time) who fought in the second Boer War.

Hello, I have not got any definate information for you, but within the 1861 Glamorganshire Census there are only 2 matches to the name Hanes (funny name when you are researching this surname's History!, as the name in Welsh means History!!!!)

Here are the only matches in 1861:

Could someone please look up any HANES familys living in Cowbridge, Glamorgan in the late 1800.
I have hit a brick wall all I have is William Richard Cecil Hanes born 3 Sep 1888. His parents where William and Cecilia.

It is very possible to have first been Haines and then changed to  HANES.

The Hanes or Haines that I searching for may be under Evans. His first names William Richard Cecil. His mother was Cecelia Evans who died during his birth and her family brought him up. So he may be
