Thank you so much for your offer of assistance. I got the marriage certificate of Richard Farmer and Teresa Herbert from the public registry office in Valletta -
It said that Richard Farmer was from Princes Street in London and Teresa Herbert was from Senglea, Malta.
They were married on 5th August 1881. Their parents' names were on their marriage certificate. Teresa's parents were Guglielmo (William) Herbert and Teresa Agius.
Unfortunately, that's about all I do have. I know that this couple ran the Star Club in Valletta.
Richard Newton Farmer and Teresa had a daughter, also named Teresa, married Caleb Stephen Cresswell in Valletta on 10th October 1904. Caleb was in the army and was stationed in Malta.
I would welcome any information about how to get certificates from Senglea Parish Church.

I was told that the grandson of William & Teresa, Jack Herbert (the soccer star) b c1896 had a sister named Rosie (I met her a couple of times just before WW2) and also another sister (don't know her name) she was called ' FJURA ' which in English means ' a flower ' She was a lady of immense beauty, thats why she was nicknamed ' a flower '
This is going to turn into a VERY long story.
John Herbert the son of William & Teresa who married Susannah Cook managed a very famous Hotel in Floriana. The Hotel's name was The Golden Lion situated at Balzunnetta (a location in Floriana next to the large sports arena). My mother b1897 used to work with her auntie Susannah at the Hotel. She used to tell us that during WW1 part of the Hotel and nearby houses where taken over by the Military and they were used as hospitals to house hundreds of injured English, Australian & New Zealand soldiers who were brought to Malta from the Dardanelles battlegound.
The Golden Lion Hotel was also called " The Flagship " and Susannah Herbert was never called by her name Susannah but she was called SOSA.
