There is a lot of information about pte Robert JONES VC at:
http://www.rorkesdriftvc.com/jones.htm

I can tell you a little about the hamlet of Clytha. Situated 3-4 miles west of the village of Raglan on the main road between Abergavenny and Raglan. The main houses are Clytha Park, home of the Hanbury Tennison family, Chapel Farm, Clytha Farm - which might actually be in the hamlet of Great Oak - and a scattering of other farms and cottages - most originally belonging to Clytha Park or Bryngwyn Manor.

There is a pub/restaurant there called, originally enough, The Clytha Arms. There used to be a footbridge high above the main road that went from Clythat Park up to the Castle. This isn't a real, old castle but a folly type castle, anyway the bridge was built to enable the ladies to walk up from the house without the need to cross the main road. The bridge was removed sometime in the early 1980s because it was dangerous.

For 15 or so years my parents ran the Clytha Arms. Behind Clytha House is Chapel Farm. At that time it was managed by the Jones family - the daughter was called Helen - if you can trace her you might find out more - good luck - Stuart Rowlands

Hi, I tried the link on the other post, it didn't work. Google Rourkes Drift V C  There is a list of V C Recipients on Wikipedia, click on Robert Jones and there is info on him at Rourkes Drift and afterwards, also a Photo.
Best wishes Rowley
