mystery McCord
« on: Tuesday 28 March 06 12:29 BST (UK) »
I have my mother's first husband and my sisters father as a James McCord b 1909 or 1910 either in Angus or Fife. He married a Emily McIntosh b 1911 then a Jessie Hutcheson or Hutchinson - where can I find information about him? None of the websites I have been to will give me anything on this period..  ::) we cant even give you his parents' names as we have no idea. my sister and i have spent hours on this from overseas and coming up blank. Anyone out there able to help us with this? We would be so grateful for the assistance.

As these dates are after the cut-off for the online indexes at Scotland's People you need someone who can look these people up in person in Edinburgh. There are lots of searchers who will do this and there are links to lists of professional searchers on the SP web site. Once you have James' and Jessie's parents' names you can tap into the online records again.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi, James McCord married my Grandmother, Jessie Hutchison in 1955 in Dundee. I just came across your post as i am trying to do a family tree. Is your sister Sheila??

I hope this post is still active.

Gillian

Hi, I only seem to be able to reply this way.

I have never spoken to Sheila. I just remember my Gran telling me 'Peem' had a daughter called Sheila. He was my step Grandfather.

Did you ever get any of the info you were looking for?

Gillian
