1841 census lookup: Woburn
« on: Tuesday 28 March 06 15:22 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for William Ralph Henley (b.1810) and family (should be wife Sarah and son John). There may also be his mother Ann (b.1770) and just possibly his father William (b.1781) though I think he died in Sussex in 1837.  Most likely address is 37 Bedford Street, though he could be at 4 Mellors Court. Would be interested in any other Henley families in Woburn if you spot any on the way, too !  For example I know there's George Henley in Park Street (with a big family - he had dozens of children) - though not specifically looking for him for now. Thanks in advance for anything!

No, still can't see them. They should definitely have been in Woburn?

David -

Many thanks for all of those - no surprises but welcome confirmation of people I know about. Just strange that young William isn't there. As far as I know he never moved to Brighton with his father William and brother John - and I didn't think his mother Ann moved either. A mystery! Suppose I shall just have to look further afield. Awaiting a couple of death certificates for Ann Henley (three Ann Henleys died about then - one in 1840, one in 1842, and one in 1844. The 1840 death was the 15-year-old daughter of John & Ann (the folio 9b family - definitely Henley). The others - I simply don't know. Too many Anns ! It's possible of course that the entire family (Wm,Ann,John,Wm) went to Brighton, though I've failed to find them there too, apart from John - and a trade directory entry for Wm the father.
