Just tried the link by searching for Smith deaths and lots of entries came up and I was able to click the link and view the scanned images.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I put 'Smith' into surname box and loads of results came up. Then clicked on some of the links and was able to view the appropriate scanned imaage of the death certificate.

The group Reclaim the Records recently obtained the Missouri death index from 1968-2015.  2016-2019 is expected soon.  https://www.missourideathindex.com/

Update as of 2024:  This index now goes up to 2022.
