William McKnight born Belfast 1846

thanks for your reply I have tracked what I think is Williams marriage cert sent off for it yesterday so with a bit of luck should know in a couple of days who his father was

this is the info from the marriage cert
William McKnight was age 25 on the cert in 1869
so I recken he was born 1844 Belfast his father was David McKnight farmer already deceased by 1869 any info on any of the above would be much appreciated

Hi,

The next step would be to check for David in the Griffiths Valuation to get a parish or townland. Do you have an address on the marriage cert? Then check the parish records (what religion?) for William's birth.

William was married in Cumberland but born in Belfast in 1844  his father was David Mcknight
I know nothing of David Mcknight
