Information on John Linnett

Hi Lola

I came across this old post whilst looking for some background information on John Voile, who my ancestor also worked for - they are on the same page as John B in 1891 and of a similar age so they probably knew each other.   

I cant help with the question of John B Linnett's father, but I have the MI's for Churchover, including John B & family.  Let me know if you want it and I'll PM you.

You've made my day.
I never thought I'd ever find John Billingham Linnett's father.
Wondered  he might be John Billingham born 1808 in Churchover, son of Stephen Billingham and Mary but this was just a guess.
JBL's father must have kept an eye on his son as he possibly got him the job in Churchover at Voile's farm because he was present at JBL's wedding in Churchover in 1853

Was he Stephen Billingham and wife Mary with a dozen or more children?

A lot of my fam hist stuff was thrown out last year but I wanted to tie up a few loose ends.

Voiles- the son of the farmer- was at Rugby school at the same time one of my Smiths was a servant there.

I guess John Billingham didn't need to be pressured as he always acknowledged his son.
