« on: Wednesday 12 April 06 03:45 BST (UK) »
Looking for any information on Catherine Ford who was born in Cork Ireland and came to US/Canada in 1850's and married Paul Hiltz.  I know nothing about Catherine's family, does anyone out there have someone fitting her stats on their tree?  Thanks!

Hi Annizoe,

Do you have Catharine and Paul in the 1860 US census?  Paul Hiltz is from Nova Scotia.

Thanks for your reply.  That is definitely my Hiltz family!  Daniel is my great grandfather.  I am just having a difficult time learning more about Catherine Ford.  On her marriage cert to Paul it lists her as coming from Cork Ireland but her parent's names are missing.  I am trying to find her parents and any siblings but have been very unlucky in my search.  I will definitely take all of the info you have shared and compile it with what I have about my Hiltz's.  They are such a huge family.  If you have any tips on how I can research Cork Ireland without hopping on an airplane, please share!  The Ford's are my proverbial brick wall.

I think your Catherine Ford is from my family.  I knew that more that my gggrandfather came over in about 1848.  He had 2 sisters – Catherine and Hanora.  Hanora married a Hugh Blackwell from Boston and William went west to Cleveland and then Wisconsin.  They are from Mitchelstown, Cork and parents were Thomas Ford and Ellen Maloney.  I never could find Catherine but then hit upon Catherine Hiltz. I am almost sure and am having a friend do some checking in Boston.
