Me again!!!

Quote
I found a marriage between a Joseph Hill and an Ellen Jones in 1872 in Llanfyllin which covers her home parish but it looks as though that may be a false trail

I think it might be worth you getting the marriage certificate, then at least with a father's name I can search again for you - I hope his name isn't John!!!!!!!!

Sue,

Have you got the earlier census details for Joseph and his family?  I've found his mother Catherine in the 1841 with husband, and Joseph's siblings, and the whole family in 1851.

Yes I have all the early census details and knew that Catherine was living with them in 1891.  In 1881 she is living with her married daughter, Ann in Liverpool.

I'm afraid the Ellen Jones Lucker is too young and my Ellen was born in Four Crosses, Llandysilio. She must be there somewhere!

At the moment I am plodding through the Hills in Gt Broughton, sounds like I'm rambling........perhaps I am!

Thanks for your effort, it must have taken you ages.

Can you see my comment in brackets above about how Anglesey was added later.  Well, I've been doing some more searching and have discovered that there is in fact a Llandysilio in Anglesey, and on checking Multi Map there is a village called Four Crosses http://www.rootschat.com/links/0e4/

Do you think we are looking in the wrong county?!!

Jan

Edit:  Since typing this I've checked for any other marriages for Joseph Hill/Ellen Jones but there aren't any.  The years 1871 - 1877 are 100% complete on FreeBMD - oh I've confused myself now :-\ :-\
