Wilden/Wilding
« on: Tuesday 03 February 04 21:00 GMT (UK) »
My great great grandfather was Simeon Wilden(Wilding), I know he lived in the Prickwillow/Mildenhall/Littleport area in the 1880's, his father was William.  He married a Sarah Handley from Littleport - any information gratefully received. ???

Thanks for your message, Mildenhall is in Suffolk now but not sure if it was listed as Suffolk in those days.  I know now that Simeon was born in the Mildenhall parish in approx 1856 and later lived in Stuntney and Ely in Cambs, but have no other information.

Hi,
I am not sure we are in the right part of rootschat, but anyway, I am just awaiting the Suffolk 1861 census, and then I should have a lot, hopefully, of useful info for you.
You can contact me off list using my email, which is avaiolable from my site pages.
   Kevan
p.s.
I am not doing a one name study of the Wilding family as there are millions of them, particularly in Lancashire, BUT i do always answer a query, and always make an attempt to answer peoples queries.

Hi Karen

Are you doing a One Name Study on the entire family name or are you just after information on these particular individuals?  :)

If the latter is the case I will gladly move the post for you to a more relevant board which may help to generate a response for you.   Please let me have any information on possible locations (County etc.) so I can place it in the right board.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes
