Ideas for Color and Restoration
« on: Saturday 22 April 06 02:15 BST (UK) »
This is a picture of my mum taken at a wedding. It has been cropped but not too well. There is no colour and or body, Can someone give me ideas what I might do to cut out the other people and color her please.
I am so thankful for the kindness here at RootChat

Hi roadrunner465,

Right - first scan it at a Larger resolution is possible!!

Then check the image size - 3.6cm x 6.3 - open a new image of the same size - with your choice of background.

Back to original image - use the Magnetic lasso tool to go around your mum - double click to join up the dots - go to "edit" - copy.

Highlight the 2nd image - go to paste - and there you have your mum on a new background - hopefully!!  ;D

Cheers

Keith

Den
thanks for the idea, but as far as scan on another resolution. It is not possible. My scanner does not seem to have properties which can be manipulated as far as I can understand. It is an Epsom CX4600 so I am not sure, but I will study some more and see if it is possible.
thanks for your help and advise

Your scanner will go up to 1200 dpi.

Try this link and read the info sheets etc

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?
If anyone has problems with scans or prints etc see this link..
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,136704.0.html

Scan at better than 300 dpi if possible..if you do not know how just ask

Thanks for the web site, I am sure my scanner will do the job, but I am not sure where/how to change the resolution. I went into the web page but there were no directions and the refence book I received really did not answer any questions.
I will however keep trying.
Thanks
