Lol rhys, i was just looking through the marriages for samuel,

thank you so much, i could hug you!!  this family has given me nightmares for the last month or so i only had hubbys grandads name and birthplace to go on when i started then i found a marriage index for hugh and may and now thanks to you i have the family for the evans side

MIL will be made up as she knew nothing of that side ( still not shown her, her dads birth cert yet as i wanted to get as many certs and info for her before presenting it all to her in a folder.

Hello
I would think that there is a strong possibility that Hugh Humphrey Evans was named after his Grandfather.

Hi Kaz

i think my great grandmother was May Evans wife of Hugh. i think i have my grandmothers birth certificate which show my grandmother Josephine May Evans daughter of Hugh Humphrey Evans (Actor) and May Evans (deceased). Registered birth in Easington (Shotton Colliery). My grandmother was adopted by a Frances Greener. my grandmothers marriage cert. shows her as being Josephine May E Greener and two of Josephine's sons had middle names as Evans which made me think that she may have been May and Hugh's daughter. Josephine was born in 1904 a month before May's death was registered. Not sure if you can shed any light on it as with he being adopted its hard to find out any information as Josephine dead when my mum was 13 i don't get to hear much of the history from that side of the family.
