I am not sure that the LIHOU family came from the mainland, at least recently. It seems to be an old family of Guernsey.

Her family tree gives her ancestress Louise Françoise BOURGAIN as a native of Cherbourg and her parents as Bernard BOURGAIN and Louise Marie Françoise MARTIN

Banns in 1881 in Boulogne. Bernard Jean Baptiste BOURGAIN , son of Jean Baptiste BOURGAIN et Geneviève Louise TETARD, both living in Boulogne, and Louise Françoise MARTIN, daughter of Louis Constant MARTIN and Victoire Françoise DEMATTE
