I am trying to find my  Irish ancestors and hopefully make contact with the members of my extended family.

New online resources gives a chance for old posts to be looked at again to see if the information can be found or the chance for posters to say whether this information has now been answered and this topic can be completed. Since the initial post the 1911 census for Co. Antrim has come online and you'll find Samuel McWilliams and family living in Killydonnelly:

This post was some time ago but only just came up when I put in a search for McWilliams in Belfast, Antrim.  I have a number of McWilliams in family tree so feel sure that dotcatt's McWilliams are related to mine, I have a tree on Ancestry and also had DNA tested if interested in investigating further.
My 3rd ggrandfather is John McWilliams also cannot find a birth date but assumed around 1820
His son, my 2nd ggrandfather William McWilliams was born 1845 in Castledown Co Derry and died 1923 Belfast Antime,
His daugther, my ggreatmother, Mary Ann McWilliams was born Magherafelt, Londonderry 1872 and died Belfast, Antrim 1956.
I am not able to find anything realted to John's siblings or other children other than my 3rd ggrandfather William McWilliams so would be interesting if the look up faclity here can find further information although not sure how to request this.
