« on: Thursday 27 April 06 22:12 BST (UK) »
Hi all looking for a Laurence Thomson/Thompson b Shetland Isles c1852 on the 1861 or 1871 Census...

In Lpool in 1881 only had two daughters Margaret & Mary Ellen, so no clue as to his fathers name he was a Dock Labourer so no clue either with his job, possibility he was a Whaler in the Shetland Isles family stories say..

 :)Hi Collette:

Have you tried googling the Bayanne site?  There were about 50 Laurence Thomson's shown on the Shetland Bayanne site.  You might be able to match up your dates to one of them and then trace his family further on the site.

Thanks Lauraine prob is i found one b 1851 father Erasmus Thomson but i really cannot be sure its him as Laurence had no sons.

I am helping someone new to genealogy and we have found his marriage cert in Lpool, so it maybe a case of he wil have to get it before we go back anymore..
