I am seeking information and descendants of Jesse Ball ( a bricklayer) and Jane Pope his wife.  They were married in 1861 and had 4 children - Frederick, Annie, Jessie and Arthur.  Any help greatly appreciated.  Jane Pope was born in Rehold, BEDS

I do have a bit of census info but am hoping to try and find out if the children married and have any offspring.  I'd love to try and eventually make contact with some descendants.

Thanks for your help.

Audrey,

Jesse BALL is listed in a number of trade directories for 32 Wellington Street as a builder [I found him there in 1903  1910] but I didnt look at the directories all...

http://www.historicaldirectories.org/

[Do a keyword search for "BALL Jesse"]

Jesie married Annie HULLAT in 1894 - I think [he is listed a a builder in 1901]

Arthur married Annie CHAMBERLAIN in 1895 - I think [and he is listed as bricklayer in 1901]

The 1901 census should give you there children up to that date..

At least that should take you into the 20th Century & perhaps a lister will have their records to hand?

Once you have the ames - try

Well done Ali!

I had the wrong Arthur!

this must be right?

Marriages Jun 1896

BALL  Arthur    Bedford  3b 693
King  Rebecca     Bedford  3b 693

The name Jesse keeps croping up [obviously a prefered family name] & I do wonder if you are in Bedford, Audrey?

Do you remember Jesse BALL who was so influential in  'Bedford against Racism' in the 1970/80s - he was such a clever sterling chap.  Much loved by many people & a good friend to Bedford - he worked so hard for Bedford in many capacities - but his particular interest were the War Widows & Orphans.

I cant remember when he died ....

I often think of him because he was always 'up-beat' & he was aways a 'gent'and a very caring soul.

message me if you know him & I'll try to contact others who can tell you more

cathy
