Hi Mars Barr,

Well the FRASER part of my family is still a mystery!
I have not done too well in this line.

JOHN FRASER = ANN JANE LOCKHART
Married about 1844.

Their son ROBERT FRASER born 24 MAY 1846 married an ELIZABETH BROWN in Dysart, Fife.  01 JUN 1866.

I can't match up any of the FRASER clan and ANN JANE LOCKHART seems to be connected with Ireland.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Regards.

Hi Izattfraser :)

Thanks for getting back in touch. I didn't know about Jessie Purdie. I always figured Thomas and Isabella must have had more children: I only knew about John Hunter Purdie and Ann Cockburn Purdie. It is the latter who I am decended from. Data as follows:

THOMAS PURDIE born 21/11/1797 Tranent (son of Thomas Purdie and Agnes Cockburn)
x
ISABELLA HUNTER  born 1805 (daughter of John Hunter and Ann Cockburn)

ANN COCKBURN PURDIE X CHARLES THOMSON 10.06.1859, South Leith

Children:

Charles Thomson born 04/05/1860, Edinburgh
Thomas Purdie Thomson born 26/04/1861, Edinburgh
Isabella Hunter Purdie born 01/05/1862, Edinburgh
Agnes Hunter Thomson born 06/03/1866, Prestonpans
Ann Purdie Thomson born 20/04/1869, Edinburgh
Margaret Purdie Thomson born 03/05/1872, Edinburgh
John Hunter Purdie Thomson born 21/06/1873, Edinburgh

Agnes Hunter Thomson is my Great-Grandmother. She married Lawrence Robertson on 09/09/1892, Edinburgh. Amongst their children was my Grandfather, Alexander Fisher Robertson.

I have a photocopy of Isabella Hunter and Thomas Purdie's marriage certificate in the Old Parish  Registers, as well as Thomas Purdie's birth entry in 1797. The original was passed via Ann C Purdie to her daughter Agnes Hunter Thomson and then in turn to one of her daughters.

Thanks for sharing the Jessie Purdie data with me!

Hi Jemmiah,

Thanks for the swift reply.

I think that some of my research seems 'suspect' I will have to check the sources.

The family names seem to be carried forward and look correct.

Must make sure, and not just 'fill in the boxes'.

Regards

John

I posted the Edinburgh Marriages several years ago and if anyone has tried to contact me
Still interested though, especially in the Izatt family at the moment.  The Edinburgh Izatts seemed to be bakers mainly and also some were involved with the printing industry as well.
