It contains surnames such as Bell Snaddon, Grant Easton Stewart, Wotherspoon, Hunter, Allan, McLean, Patrick, Nisbet, Main and more.

I am looking for a Francis BELL who married in North Petheron  Somerset in 1693 and the parish record says;
'A Scotsman' .......... hoping there might have been a link with your BELL's.

ok sorry not back that far yet . stuck at 1819 need to find james bell parents the one who married elisabeth snaddon in 1819. He must have died before 1855 as he is not on scotlands people and i cannot find the old parish records for death. the marriage cert doesnt list the parents. I think I know who his parents were but cannot confirm till i locate death cert or something else that gives me his parents.  I'm in Australia so can not get to the records easily unless I find something on the web. I can tell you that my bell's came to aust about 1911 and my grandfather served in ww1 in the AIF.

Dont know if this helps you but if you have any questions just ask

I see that this is a very old post but there may have been some progress. I also am trying to find where Francis Bell came from originally. He married in Elizabeth Speed in 1693 in North Petherton, Somerset. Has anybody made any progress?
