Thanks for taking the time away from your own research to check my requested lookups as well as all the others you received.  Now I know that Wm Adams and wife Barbara lived on Western Road in Brighton in 1854.

Question re the marriage record of Thomas Turner and Sarah Patching in 1821 Brighton - it said "both of third parish" - does anyone know what that would be or whether it is referring to St Nicolas ??

Your generous help to all is appreciated and your efforts exceed all expections, and I am grateful for all the help.

Don't get disheartened mate, we all have bad days at the office!

The John Wenham that you found baptised at Sedlescombe still could be of interest as he could be the father of the John Wenham who married Mary Gutsell rather that Richard who is probably John the elder's brother.
