James DEAN ca.1792/3 Leeds
« on: Tuesday 16 May 06 06:06 BST (UK) »
Hello all, can anyone help please?

What I know of the above James DEAN is:

Married 20 March 1824 to Esther MORTIMER at Batley Parish Church Ref.659.
Witnesses - Joseph DEAN and John ROBERTS

From the 1851 Census his DOB could have been 1792/3 at Woodhouse Carr, Leeds.

Burial 22 Feb 1855 St.Mark, Woodhouse.

Using nothing more than IGI I had his parents as James and Susannah (BROOKSBANK) DEAN, with siblings Elisabeth, Martha, William, Thomas and Henry.

I realise that it's possible for a cousin or uncle to be a witness to a marriage, but probably more usual for it to be a father or brother. This being the case, there is no Joseph sibling or father.

As a matter of interest only, Esther died 1831 and was replaced late that year by Marie COUPLAND.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction for parents for James?

Thanks for any help.
