Emery Lane photo should be relevant even if recent, as I don't recall much alteration (if any!) down there. Loveley's bakery on West Street would only give a modern photo, or possibly one from before the bombing raid.Since the shop was next door to the Royal George which was also destroyed, contacting the brewery which I think was Warwick and Richardson (now part of Whitbread) might produce a picture of the pub and incorporate part at least of the shop. The following is a quotation from p53 of Boston at War by Martin Middlebrook "On the night of 12th June 1941, a single heavy bomb burst behind West Street, near James Street. A public house -the Royal George- Loveley's Commercial Hotel, and several houses were destroyed and when the ruins were cleared next day it was found that there was a tragic death toll. One of the dead was Mr. John Faulkner, an old man in his seventies; there was a soldier's wife, Mrs. Nancy Harris, with her three little children, and, finally, two well-known teenage girls, Kathleen and Audrey Loveley. In all, nine people died in what was Boston's worst air-raid incident of the war."
