Castleton newspaper query
« on: Monday 22 May 06 14:40 BST (UK) »
Hi, please can anybody tell me which newspaper would have mentioned people who died in Castleton in 1910. I have an ancestor who had some kind of accident near a railway line and whose main cause of death was a fractured skull and am very interested in any article there might have been in a local newspaper.

Thanks

Anna

Hi,

I would try the Eskdale and Liddesdale advertiser.

Hi Emma, Thanks very much for that, have contacted the Borders Family History Centre in Selkirk as well and they also suggested the Hawick Express and Hawick News so have contacted Hawick Library about it.

Thanks again

Hi Emma, just an update, there was a report in the Eskdale and Liddesdale advertiser about my Andrew Rodger and it turns out he got knocked down by a goods train when he was crossing the railway line at the station, nasty!

Hi Anna,

I'm glad your where able to find it. It's always good when these things work out- not so good for Andrew though!
