Hi Andy,

Thanks for the reply. I applied to MoD last October for George's service records and am still awaiting a reply (which is par for the course, I understand). When they turn up, if there's anything which might be of use to you, I shall let you know.

Regards,
Myles

Chris, Mack,
Spent some time thinking of these men and dug up a little more for you which might be of use. It would appear that they were medically downgraded men so initial guess was right.

Andy

btw did you see the piece in Charles Messengers book (a call to arms) about the  transfers?

Hells Bells,
More of the Mancs found in the RB Rolls, strewth guys I know the Mancs was a relatively new regiment but what is going on here.
Numbers all fall within the range of men from the TR Battalions and transfers from other Regiments.
Well at least most of these guys went out to fighting RB Battalions, makes a change for the Mancs, most of them seem to have come down for the gardening and southern sun.   :P ;D ;D ;D

MATHER, Alfred, 16024, 11th & 2nd Mancs,   became 213237, 19th R.B.

G'day all, this is my first post here, and I'm hoping to find out more about my grandmother's first husband, and I believe the above Alfred Mather may be him, as the info I have so far shows him as a "Rifleman, K.R.R.".

I would love to find out his date of birth, and death date, to help with my family's time line.

My grandmother was Matilda Elizabeth Brison, and she married Alf in April 1904, and had 3 kids with him.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
TIA, Steve
