Hi all

Although I don't have any connection I found a few sites that mention the surname Duhig/Duhigg and thought you might like to have a look.

http://www.ellisisland.org/search/passSearch.asp

( this site lists passengers arriving at Ellis Island New York-you have to register but it's free to search.Just input the surname and you can see the original ship's manifest etc.)

http://www.nationalarchives.ie/search/index.php?category=18&searchDescTxt=duhig&PHPSESSID=i2q2ol486f3o8n4m6g3d31j9n0&style=null#searchform

http://www.limerickcity.ie/CityLibrary/LocalStudies/1911Census-CountyLimerick/

http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php

http://www.limerickdioceseheritage.org/parishIndex.htm

I tried Duhig and Duhigg and found some entries for both-you may want to try some other surnames as well.

Hope this helps

Regards

Neptune

This is possibly the father or Grandfather... http://www.dippam.ac.uk/eppi/documents/11536/page/268565

My Duhig (not direct so I don't have much on them) has a Timothy Duhig born 1816 died 1868 reg district of Newcastle.  Son of John Duhig That's all I know about him as he is the brother of Bridget Duhig who married into my line.  The family came from Bruff.

Just following this line as I have come across a Mary Duhig married to a Gareth O'Connor the had several children including  Michael O'Connor Born about 1816 who married Honora Hastings, they had several children some of whom emigrated to Australia QLD.  One of their sons was David O'Connor born 1840 died 1876 possible in India.  If you can make a connection I would love to hear it.  Thanks
