Hello L23,

Sorry I can't help - but I was interested to see the VASEY name.

I have VASSIE in Scotland - much earlier and spelled various ways - and haven't managed to trace them to date.

Gggggma Jane/Jean VASSIE married Gggggpa William MCLAUSE (a name which has even more spelling variants) in 1803.
The parish register for 1803 for Kippen, Stirlingshire reads:
"July 19, William McLaus, Kippen; Jean Vassie, Glasgow; by Mr McEuan Min Dundee at Buchlyvie the 29th August".
There is an LDS patron submission in the IGI which lists:
Jean VASSIE married William M'LAW, 31 Jul 1803, Glasgow Lanarkshire.

I suspect that Jean may be the Jean VASSIE, b 26 Nov bap 28 Nov 1776, Barony Lanarkshire, parents James VASSIE and Ann WILSON.

Any connexions?

JAP

Hi L23,

Thanks for answering.

It would have been too good to be true had there been a connexion  :'(

Sometimes I think nobody is looking for this family of mine  >:(

Good luck,

JAP
