I'm looking any info on John Whitfield born approx. 1750. His son Thomas was born in Kirkby Stephen so I am hoping that John was born or died there. I know he married Jane Green but am stuck after that. Would love to find his parents. Thanks Cass

Hi cass,

I have found this Christening but it is in Mallerstang Westmorland. I have tried to see how far this place is from Kirkby Stephen (which I have found) but have not managed to find it on my map :-\ So just for the record....in case, I am very unsure of this one :-\

John Whitfield Christened 15 August 1749 Mallerstang
Father Thomas

Kind Regards,

Frances :)

Thanks Frances, this certainly seems to be a good possibility. I think Mallerstang is near Kirkby Stephens. Where did you find info? Cass

Thanks Frances. I don't have access to the BVRI - is there any marriages for Thomas Whitfield or christenings in the same area? Cass

Thanks Frances, I was hoping to find Thomas whitfield's christening. If his son was born in 1749 I am thinking that Thomas may have been born around 1720-25? Cass

Thanks Frances - a good possibility. May have to have a trip there to see if I can confirm or not, but that far back it is difficult. Many thanks for your time and effort. Cass
