1871 and 1891 lookup

Found Maria Nichols age 40 born  Suffolk in 1881 living with daughter Laura age 15 and George age 12 both born Norwich, Norfolk. Would like to know where they were in 1871 and perhaps who the father was.
George married Flora Harding in Sept 1891 but was in London by this stage so may not show up in the Norfolk register in 1891.

George Nichols Head  age 64 Bricklayer b Halvergate Norfolk
Maria  Nichols Wife age 50 Tailoress b Lowestoft Suffolk

I could see from the 1881 that Maria was down as married ,so I would assume that her husband was working away from home.
What also didn't help is the name had been transcribed as Nicholl ,when you look at the page it is obvious that it is Nichols the s looks like a l .

Thnaks for that. Nichols is probably one of those names with a variety of spelling. Hopefully someone will find George and Maria in the 1871 census.
