Brentford has been re generated & a lot of its history has been lost .However several of the local war Memorials & plaques for bulldozed church's & companys have been re installed in the grounds of Brentford Library you might like to give them a call I don't know if James is still there he was of great help to me a few years back he also worked at the history center in Hounslow Library
Brentford Library = 02085608801   Hounslow =08454562800

I think your post about your grandfather addressed to Chamber was related to his/her post back in 2009 (on page 6 of the thread).  He/she hasn't been on the site since March 2012 so if you don't get a response, try a personal message.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

I can confirm that the Memorial for Brentford Gas, Light & coke company for both wars is now as I thought situated outside ' Brentford also identical tablets are @ the former sites in Fulham & Bromley -by-bow .
not far under 600 names are on the list for W.W.1  according to the Royal British Legions Middlesex roll of honours list  Diaper  J.T. being amongst them I can take a drive there over the next few days & get a few photos if you like .

Yes I will do in the meantime if you google Brentford war memorial's it will give you a list of the main one & added ones that have been re sited there if you click on the second on down= MIDDLESEX ROLL OF HONOURS LIST it will open up with a full list of the names & in some an added info part ,through this you can open up memorials in other towns (Sorry for the long explanation but I am not a technical sort of person)

Hi new to this forum. My husband found a brown small bag in a wall cavity in Broadway Market and on it it says the gas light and coke company.
Attached a pic. Not sure if it’s interests anybody?
